MODIFIED STRACH fıltration controller is a pregelatinized drillinggrade starch That complies with API 13A. Starch is a polysaccharide consisting of two main components: amylopectin and amylose. Amylopectin is present in proportions in the order of 70 percent and is water insoluble. The process of pregelatinization involves heat and breaks down the crystallinity to improve the water dispersibility/solubility.

USAGE
MODIFIED STRACH fıltration controller usually has to be added at a minimum concentration level of 3.5 lb/bbl (10 kg/m3) before signifıcant effects on fluid loss are observed. The maximum concentration is considered to be 7.5 lb/bbl (21.4 kg/m3).
MODIFIED STRACH fıltration controller is a natural substance and is subject to microbial attack, which can reduce fıltration-control effectiveness except where high salinity (>180 g/L chloride) or high pH is present. WEL-STAR fıltration controller is thermally stable up to 230° F (110°C), above which the rate of degradation increases with temperature.
Product is slightly hydroscopic and should be stored in dry conditions, away from sources of heat and ignition.
