CMC-LV  is a water loss control agent used in fresh water-based muds as well as bentonite to provide a further reduction in water loss. CMC is a cellulose based anionic polymer and its general usage dose is 1-3 lb / bbl. The water loss control feature decreases rapidly if the salt concentration in the environment exceeds 50,000 ppm and the bottom temperature approaches 300 ºF. CMC API Spec 13A used in lignosulfonate sludges recommended in this program must meet the conditions recommended in Chapter 9.
